Course Aims
This practical "hands-on" course is a fully updated version of our very popular "PC Fundamentals" course. It will teach readers the essential skills of personal computer operation, providing a valuable introduction for both users and support newcomers. On course completion, readers will be able to - understand the components of a PC; take care of the computer, through cleaning and simple preventative maintenance; copy and move files using the DOS directory structure; run Windows and start applications; customize the Windows environment for personal preferences.
Assumed Knowledge
You are not required to have gained any experience of using a PC to follow this course. However, some familiarity with the use of a keyboard and mouse would be desirable. If possible, the following activities should be practised before the course: Type text and press key combinations using a PC keyboard & Mouse actions (point, click, double-click, and alt-click).

This course is designed for the following people: Those wanting to support PCs and peripherals, who need to acquire basic knowledge and skills before progressing to further training in preparation for A+ Certification.
